Specification of Lubrication oil to be used in the C.F. Nielsen Briquette presses

Affect Models:

C.F. Nielsen Briquette Presses, apply to all models containing:

Shell Omala s2 GX 100

Shell Omala s2 GX 150

Shell Omala s2 GX 220

Shell Omala s2 GX 460

Issue:

It has come to attention, expansion in products under the “Shell Omala” portfolio may lead to improper oil being applied to the C.F. Nielsen Briquette Presses, leading to failures to lubrication system. Shell Omala gear oils are available in both mineral and synthetic based versions. Mineral oil is designated with "s2" in the description above, and synthetic is designated with "s4"

Applying synthetic based oils to the equipment has been seen to cause damage to internal coating, O-rings, sealings, bearings and bushing surfaces.

Correction:

Only, Mineral based, high-quality, extreme-pressure industrial gear oils, designed for heavy duty gearboxes, equivalent to the Shell Omala product, are to be used in the C.F. Nielsen Briquette presses.

Action:

Inspect no synthetic based oils may have been added to your press.

In the event synthetic oil has been filled, empty the oil system and flush the system to dissolve the oil film generated in the oil-system from the synthetic oil. Please contact your supplier of oil for guidance in cleaning the system.
