If you are considering briquetting your waste material, firstly you need to determine which capacity machinery you need. We deliver presses of varying capacities, developed to sustain a certain amount. With 1000 and 4000 tons production of waste raw material per year, we recommend that you choose a briquetting line that produces 700-1000 kgs per hour. This line is a low cost line with a relatively high capacity wood briquette machine and it will give you a quick pay-back. The press of this line produces a consumer log with high density in the most widely sold and used consumer briquette sizes.

There are many factors in determining the capacity of a briquetting press. In general, we indicate the capacity of our briquetting presses based on how many kilograms of briquettes they can produce in one hour. However, there are several other factors to take into consideration when entering briquette production. At C.F. Nielsen we offer engineering advice and adapt our briquetting presses to your specific needs.
Many consumers use logs and briquettes for wood burning stoves, which requires higher demands for the briquettes of higher density. The quality of the raw material for consumer briquettes must also often be of a higher standard, which may require pre-treatment or cleaning.
The high density of consumer logs may decrease the capacity of the briquetting press slightly. Furthermore your raw materials influence the press capacity and which line set-up you need to prepare the raw material for briquetting. There are several variables within the subject of the raw material to consider in this case.
Hardwood, softwood and wood that needs initial cleaning prior to briquetting will entail varying line set-ups. In general, hardwood will give a higher capacity than softwood. This is mainly due to the effort it will take from the machine to pack the wood particles hard enough for it to form a briquette. Particle size also influences pre-treatment and capacity. It is however possible to make briquettes from sawdust as well as larger scraps.
