Husks as raw material for briquetting

At C.F. Nielsen we have broad experience with delivering solutions for turning different types of husks into briquettes - and thus, making for an alternative source of energy. We have delivered solutions to Ethiopia for briquetting coffee husks, Eastern Europe for sunflower husks and Indonesia for rice husks. There are several benefits to utilizing husks for briquetting material. Most husks are very dry, and they do not need to be downsized. Therefore, they can be fed directly into a briquetting press with no prior processing. This makes husks a very efficient raw material to work with - thus creating a quick cash back.

Single press or full line?

At C.F. Nielsen, we are experts in producing briquetting presses and lines specifically for our customer’s productions. We are passionate about creating maximum efficiency and output for your business with raw materials you already have in your production. In agricultural productions, husks are a by-product of the main production, but it can be utilized as an energy source quite easily. Depending on the layout of your production, we can deliver full production lines for briquetting husks. Our line capacities start at 500 kg/h and are ideal for customers with waste volumes from 500 tons and upwards. If you only need a press, we can provide that too.

Furthermore, our briquetting presses are constructed to handle the high wear from husks. Due to the high ash- and silica content of husks, the raw material creates higher wear on the equipment. We have developed special accessories and wear parts for our briquetting presses, so our customers can experience the highest up-time and efficiency possible. Our special accessories, for example dies, pistons and compression screws - are produced from special steel, and have undergone a special hardening process - or are given a special surface treatment. This allows the parts to resist the high wear from difficult raw materials.

Main features for the husk briquetting solution

0,5-1,3 t/h Combining sales and production of shavings with briquettes

In the U.K. there is a large market for producing and selling bedding for horses. Most of the bedding is made from shavings from softwood. The shavings have to be clean from dust, so the dust is removed during the processing of the shavings.

One of our customers in the U.K. has decided to utilize the left over dust from the production of shavings to produce briquettes for consumers.
