Wood briquettes for cooking

In many countries in Africa the main source for energy is wood. This is both for industrial and domestic purposes. For cooking, firewood and especially charcoal is very popular.

Most of the wood for cooking is from felling trees and due to the high demand of fuel the forests are being depleted. If the situation continues, there will be a high degree of deforestation. Producing charcoal requires up to 7 kg of wood to produce 1 kg of charcoal, which makes the situation even worse.

We have sold plants in Africa where we use wood based and agricultural based residues for producing briquettes. Sales of briquettes are combined with special stoves that ensure low consumption of fuel and reduced smoke.

Why chose the cooking solution?

We are continuing to develop this concept and are working with different organizations on this. The overall objective is to support low-income groups by providing them access to a sustainable and economically feasible source of energy. At the same time, CO2 emissions can be reduced – and the pressure on local forests can also be reduced through the substitution of non-renewable charcoal with an efficient and renewable alternative

Small machine for small diameter

The BP2010 and BP2510 models are the latest upgrade and our smallest mechanical presses. The presses are designed to meet the requirement industrial companies with smaller volumes, but also for organizations and companies in regions like Africa, that require a strong and reliable briquetting press.

The presses are well suited for the production of briquettes of many different agricultural and wood based raw material including dust like MDF. The presses are strong and reliable mechanical presses designed for automatic 3-shift operation. All vital parts are integrated in the strong machine frame and glass fiber protective housing.

The briquettes can typically be used as industrial briquettes for boilers in district heating or power plants, but also for other purposes such as briquettes for cooking stoves in regions like Africa. The briquettes is often very short or even puck sized.

0,5-1,3 t/h Combining sales and production of shavings with briquettes

In the U.K. there is a large market for producing and selling bedding for horses. Most of the bedding is made from shavings from softwood. The shavings have to be clean from dust, so the dust is removed during the processing of the shavings.

One of our customers in the U.K. has decided to utilize the left over dust from the production of shavings to produce briquettes for consumers.
