Agricultural Waste as Raw Material for Briquetting

Agricultural Waste is the residues generated through agricultural activities, such as processing and management of crops and other agricultural products. Agricultural residues is excellent raw material for briquettes, making it a valuable source of sustainable energy.

Historically, agricultural waste has been burned down or left on the fields to rod, however, these methods do not come without environmental concerns. That is why especially burning the residues is regulated or restricted in many countries and areas around the world. Within the European Union, some states in the U.S., Australia, China, and others, there are several regulations and restrictions to burning agricultural residues.

It is a general tendency around the world, that governments and other stakeholders are encouraging sustainable waste management of agricultural residues. C.F. Nielsen offers a sustainable waste management solution with our briquetting presses, as they can transform agricultural waste into renewable energy.

There is a vast amount of different agricultural raw materials suitable for the briquetting process with our three different briquetting technologies. We have gathered a small overview of some of the most common agricultural raw materials suited for briquetting within the boxes below.

If you do not recognize your agricultural residues in the boxes, feel free to contact our sales team to determine the sustainable possibilities of your residues.

C.F. Nielsen Experience – Agricultural Briquetting

Throughout the years, we here at C.F. Nielsen have, tested, and sold many briquetting presses for the production of agricultural briquettes. We have experience with many different agricultural raw materials, such as Corn stalks, Straw, Rice husk, Bagasse, Coffee husk, Hemp, Manure, etc.

Agricultural waste can be used for both consumer and industrial briquettes. We here at C.F. Likewise, within the industrial segment for agricultural briquettes there is great potential and we here at C.F. Nielsen have broad experience with various solutions and outcomes for agri briquettes. Agricultural briquettes can be used for various industrial purposes, such as a substitute for fossil fuels, animal bedding, activation toys and feed for animals such as pigs.

0,5-1,3 t/h Combining sales and production of shavings with briquettes

In the U.K. there is a large market for producing and selling bedding for horses. Most of the bedding is made from shavings from softwood. The shavings have to be clean from dust, so the dust is removed during the processing of the shavings.

One of our customers in the U.K. has decided to utilize the left over dust from the production of shavings to produce briquettes for consumers.
